I am a consultant and freelance writer who lives in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. I write for both consumer and professional audiences, and consult for non-profit organizations on strategic planning and market development. I am also a registered yoga teacher.
I have written extensively on healthcare industry topics for professional readers. My expertise is based upon more than twenty years of experience as an executive for various healthcare and non-profit organizations. I have published articles on healthcare reimbursement , risk management, and hospice care. In 1999 I wrote a full-length book, Global Capitation, published by McGraw-Hill. I am also the author of five book-length studies on hospital management that were privately published by The Advisory Board Company.
For consumer audiences, I have written on food and cooking, gardening, real estate and design. An avid home cook, I also have professional experience as a restaurant cook. In that work, I developed menus with a broad range of fusion cuisines including Asian, Italian and Southern Regional recipes.
My consulting practice supports clients with strategic planning, PR and communications, marketing and grant writing. I have also acted as an advocate at many levels of government, including county, state and federal government. Past clients and partners include Fannie Mae, WETA television, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maryland, The Advisory Board Company (Washington, DC), Montgomery Hospice (Rockville, MD), and the National Foundation for Alternative Medicine.

I teach hatha yoga at several locations in the Washington area, primarily at Sacred Well Yoga Studio in Falls Church, Virginia. I began my practice seven years ago seeking relief from back pain, and now enjoy helping my students find mental, spiritual and physical benefits from yoga.
